The Word as Law is the second studio album by Californian band Neurosis. It was released in 1990 through Lookout! Records, originally on LP only. This is the digitally remastered (by Bob Weston) reissue. The album’s artwork has been completely redone to match previous reissues. Neurosis is an American avant-garde metal band based in Oakland, California. They formed in 1985 as a hardcore punk band, but beginning with their third studio album Souls at Zero (1992) developed a unique style highly influential to the development of the post-metal and sludge metal genres.
